CAMPING TENT SET UP

The Amazing REI Base Camp 6 Tent Setup and First Impressions

It was time to get an overland adventure tent that would withstand what nature could throw at it. We have had a lot of cheap tents over the years and it was time to get something that would fit us and hold up. Our Coleman Evanston has nothing on this guy. The REI base camp 6 is awesome. It has tons of well thought out features and reinforcements, plus it has a geodesic dome construction. The poles are light and easy to setup. The supplied stakes are far beyond what I expected. The ventilation is second to none. The headroom is spectacular and the setup is a breeze.

Here are the REI Basecamp 6 details and technical specs from REI:

Details

Wide-mouth door orientation gives all sleepers equal access to the 2 doors—no need to crawl over a tentmate to get in and out

2 roof vents help control condensation; zippered access allows campers to adjust the vents from inside the tent
Color coding and equal-length poles simplify setup
Large pole-supported vestibule and a smaller stake-out vestibule provide covered storage front and rear
Coated 150-denier polyester oxford floor is abrasion- and puncture-resistant
Full-coverage polyester rainfly is resistant to stretching and UV rays
